Life Lessons

I was flipping through my Bible this afternoon and stumbled upon a page that I had not ever noticed before. It is simply a list of people in the Old Testament, what their key life lesson was, and the Book and verses as to where you can read up on them. Amazing! I just love having sort of an outline of something to study. In fact, I think I may go buy a study guide sometime--just so I have some direction. Anyway, here are just a few of the people and the info that went along with them. I will definitely be going back and reading their stories so I know them even better than before.

1. Abraham--Faith alone makes one right in God's eyes--Genesis 11:26-25:10
2. Tamar--God works his purposes even through sinful events--Genesis 38
3. Jesse--Never take lightly the impact you may have on your children--1 Samuel 16
4. Solomon--Man's wisdom is foolishness without God--1 Kings 1-11
5. Joshua--Real courage comes from God--The book of Joshua
6. Bathsheba--One wrong act does not disqualify us from accomplishing things for God--2 Samuel 11, 12 & 1 Kings 1, 2
